the wintertime brings family gatherings, resolutions, shiny bells, marzipan, satsumas, skeleton trees, sleeping in late, soup in the thermos, the fresh crunch of snow, moms knitted cap, cashmere turtlenecks, coltrane on sundays, baileys and cocoa, logs on the fire, daffodils on the side of the road, pocket tissues, flannel sheets, old leather boots and woolen knee socks, a brisk hike, tackling the mending pile, willa cather, magnolias in bloom, a misplaced umbrella, finding my lost glove, solitude, and the warm glow of candlelight...
