We'd  like to think that every one of our flora hairpin designs are as unique as each of our clients... Surprisingly light and easy to wear, the flora work with the finest and thickest of hairstyles.  They make wonderful alternatives to a traditional veil, or can be worn post-ceremony and are even perfect for black-tie events.  We believe in quality craftsmanship and with the right care and handling, they are made to last a lifetime as an heirloom accessory...

The construction process:

Elements of each hairpin flora from start to finish are completely handmade involving technical aspects of feather shaping, millinery and jewelry design.  Our flowers are created from 100% dupioni silk and are designed to resemble a camellia bloom.  The feathers we use are natural pheasant, harvested humanely and hand-assembled into each pin.  Additionally, we only ever use real gemstones and quality freshwater pearls in each flower design.

Sizing:

Due to the handmade nature of the flora, each pin varies slightly in weight and dimension.  They weigh approximately 2 ounces or less and measure approximately 4 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter including the center flower and feather base from tip  to tip.   Flora omitting the feather base measures approximately 4 inches in diameter by 4 inches tall.

Designing your hairpin:

With so many options to consider, it is important for you to feel comfortable while designing your hairpin.  We are happy to walk you through our detailed process which we handle by phone or through email by form submission.

The process is similar for both the custom and Ready To Wear flora options.  Whenever possible, you will always have the option of customizing your hairpin's flower color, gemstone cluster and feather base.  Prices featured on our website are for similar models as pictured in the photographs provided.  Each flora is designed according to your specifications.  If you prefer to design your own custom color, we will perform detailed dye-work from a color swatch that you provide for us.  

Ordering your hairpin design:

In general,  our “Ready to Wear”styles allow a minimum of 2-4 weeks.  Custom dye requests please allow a minimum of 4-6 weeks. 

We make to order most pieces, and we do our best to accommodate all clients, however during peak seasons we cannot always guarantee that we can accept new orders.  Please allow extra time for delivery. 

All individual price quotes will be given in writing and are valid for 90 days.  Please inquire regarding rush orders and availability of certain styles.

Where are we based?:

For local customers within the California Bay Area, flora fittings are available by appointment only at our boutique.  Please call ahead to schedule an appointment with us in person.

Payment:

We accept payment via all major credit cards. Personal checks are accepted, however your account must be prepaid before your item is shipped.  We require a $75 non-refundable deposit to begin your custom order.

Shipping & Handling:

Shipping & handling charges will apply to each order.  Orders are shipped via expedited Federal Express or Express Mail.  Orders shipped within the state of California, are applicable to sales tax (8.75%.)  Orders shipped outside of California will not be charged sales tax. 

International orders are welcomed.  Duties and taxes will apply and are the responsibility of the client.
